PUP SEE Cross Section Data Inputs

You must be careful to provide the SEE cross-section information to the CREME96/PUP routine in the units expected by the program. In particular:

  • The proton-induced SEE cross-section MUST ALWAYS be specified in units of 10-12 cm2/bit. (NOT per device!)
  • For fits to the cross-section (Bendel-1, Bendel-2, Weibull, etc.), the fit parameters must yield the cross-section (in 10-12 cm2/bit) as a function of proton energy (in MeV).
  • Values in user-supplied tables of cross section vs. proton energy must also be in these units.
